The Strada Products SPSA-03 Mini Shock Arrestor is a highly effective expansion device configured for rapid inline installation to arrest water hammer, stop pipework rattle, and absorb destructive hydraulic shockwaves. Water hammer is a common issue in modern potable water systems, occurring when fast-acting mechanisms - such as quarter-turn ceramic disc taps, washing machine valves, or solenoid-controlled appliances - shut off instantly. This creates a high-pressure shockwave that travels backwards through the pipe network. Installing this 0.16-litre arrestor adjacent to the noise source cushions this pressure spike, silencing the system and protecting pipe joints and appliances from premature fatigue.
